Project Overview
KOSUN delivered a customized 90 m³/h drilling mud treatment system to a research institution in Southwest China.
The system was designed to treat drilling mud generated during continuous scientific and experimental drilling activities. By integrating efficient solid-liquid separation and water recovery, the system enables on-site mud treatment and water reuse, reducing the need for conventional off-site transportation and disposal.

The Challenge
Continuous drilling experiments generate significant volumes of drilling mud that require timely and reliable treatment.
Previously, the mud was collected and transported off site for disposal. This approach involved high transportation and disposal costs, complicated handling procedures, and long processing cycles. It was also difficult to support the continuous operation of drilling research activities.
In addition, the limited installation space required a compact system capable of providing stable and efficient treatment within the existing research facility.
The KOSUN Solution
Based on the site’s operating conditions, available space, and treatment requirements, KOSUN designed and delivered a customized 90 m³/h drilling mud treatment system.
The system processes drilling mud through an integrated solid-liquid separation process. Separated solids are reduced for subsequent handling, while the recovered water can be reused in the experimental process.
With a compact layout and automated operation, the system provides a practical on-site solution for continuous drilling mud treatment while helping reduce waste transportation, water consumption, and overall disposal costs.
