A complete mud circulation system is composed of multiple specialized devices and a precise working chain:


Mud storage system

The mud tank group, as the "liquid storage center" of the system, adopts a hierarchical design to ensure that mud of different properties can be stored separately, 

and is equipped with an automatic stirring device to prevent sedimentation.


Mud conveying system

The mud conveying system is mainly used to transfer and circulate drilling fluid between different treatment units, ensuring the efficient treatment and reuse of mud. 

Common mud conveying equipment includes centrifugal pumps, sand pumps, screw pumps and mud agitators

Mixing funnels, etc.


Solid control purification system

High-frequency vibrating screen: It adopts a double-layer screen mesh design and can quickly separate drill cuttings larger than 2mm

Cyclone sand and mud remover: Separates solid particles ranging from 15 to 74μm through a centrifugal force field

High-speed centrifuge: Achieves the final separation of ultrafine particles at the 5μm level

Vacuum degasser: Effectively removes over 90% of the intrusive gas


Pipeline conveying system

Wear-resistant alloy steel pipes are adopted and combined with intelligent flow control valve groups to achieve precise distribution of slurry.

The mud circulation system plays an extremely important role in the drilling mud industry. On the one hand, it can effectively cool and lubricate the drill bit, greatly extending its service life. In the high-temperature and high-pressure bottom-well environment, the drill bit generates a large amount of heat during the high-speed rotation and rock breaking process. The mud circulation system continuously delivers low-temperature mud, which can promptly remove this heat and prevent the drill bit from being damaged due to overheating. Meanwhile, the lubricating effect of the mud can also reduce the frictional resistance between the drill bit and the rock, making the drilling process smoother and improving the drilling efficiency. On the other hand, the mud circulation system can balance the formation pressure by adjusting the performance parameters such as the density and viscosity of the mud, effectively preventing serious accidents such as wellbore collapse and blowout. Under different geological conditions, formation pressure varies. Reasonable mud performance can provide sufficient supporting force to maintain the stability of the wellbore.

In addition, the mud circulation system can promptly carry the drill cuttings at the bottom of the well to the surface, ensuring the cleanliness of the wellbore and preventing the accumulation of drill cuttings from hindering the drilling operation.
